Clean up EDI journals and EDI history

In EDI Studio:

• All EDI transactions are logged in EDI history management (BisEdiHistory table).

• You can use the staging concept to validate data in an intermediate area before it is further processed. Several predefined staging journals are available for EDI Studio:

  • EDI purchase journal

  • EDI purchase arrival journal

  • EDI Sales journal

  • EDI Delfor journal

  • EDI inventory journal

  • EDI transfer journal

To prevent the database from containing too much data, you can clean up the EDI history and EDI staging journals in recurring mode.

For example, you want to keep the EDI staging journals for six months. Each week, you can do a cleanup, deleting staging journals older than six months.

Steps

1. Go to EDI > Periodic > EDI journal clean-up > Clean EDI history.

2. Click OK.

3. Sub-task: Clean up EDI history.

   1. You can clean up the EDI history.

      Select Yes in the Delete EDI History field.

   2. Define the period for which you want to keep the EDI history records. All EDI history records that are older than the defined period, are deleted.

      In the Number of days field, enter a number.

4. Sub-task: Clean up EDI journals.

   1. You can clean up the EDI journals.

      To define which EDI journals are deleted, use these filters:

      • Number of days

      • Status

      • EDI journal type

      Select Yes in the Delete EDI Staging journals field.

   2. Define the period for which you want to keep the EDI journals. All EDI journals that are older than the defined period, are deleted.

      In the Number of days field, enter a number.

   3. Select the statuses for which you want to delete the EDI journals. All EDI journals that have one of the defined statuses, are deleted.

      In the Statuses field, enter or select the desired statuses.

   4. You can include the EDI sales journals in the clean up.

      Select Yes in the Include EDI sales journals field.

   5. You can include the EDI purchase journals in the clean up.

      Select Yes in the Include EDI purchase journals field.

   6. You can include the EDI inventory journals in the clean up.

      Select Yes in the Include EDI inventory journals field.

   7. You can include the EDI transfer journals in the clean up.

      Select Yes in the Include EDI transfer journals field.

   8. You can include the EDI Delfor journals in the clean up.

      Select Yes in the Include EDI DELFOR journals field.

5. Sub-task: Set up batch processing.

   1. Expand the Run in the background section.

   2. Select Yes in the Batch processing field and fill in the fields as desired.

   3. Click Recurrence and fill in the fields as desired.

   4. Click OK.

6. Click OK.
