You can import a snapshot of a security configuration from an XML file that is exported from another environment. You can compare the imported external snapshot with an internal snapshot.
When the snapshot is imported from the XML file:

  • The XML file is stored in the Security and compliance file share workspace, on the Snapshots tab.
  • The snapshot is added to the list of snapshots shown on the Snapshots page.

Standard procedure

1. Go to Security and compliance > Security > Snapshots.
2. Click Import.
3.

Choose if you import an external or internal snapshot.

If you click Yes, as a result:

  • The XML file is stored in the Security and compliance file share workspace, on the Snapshots tab with the suffix " - from external".
  • On the Snapshots page, the imported snapshot is marked as External.
Click Yes, and on the dialog, browse for and select the desired XML file.
4. You can choose overwrite an existing snapshot.
Select Yes in the Overwrite existing setup field.
5. Click OK.

Note: Make sure the file is fully loaded before you click OK.

6. On the job message, click Close.
7. Close the page.
