Before you publish a RapidValue solution as a website, define the contents of the website and where you store it.

You can store a published website in several ways:
  • RapidValue file share
  • Local folder
  • Azure file storage

On publish, files and folders are generated and stored in a temporary folder. When generation is finished: The files and folders are added to a ZIP file. The temporary folder with its contents is deleted. The ZIP file is stored on the Business process management workspace, on the All files tab. If you have only published a solution, the ZIP file is also stored on the Business process file share workspace, on the Websites tab. Procedure 1. Click Business process file share. 2. Click Websites. 3. Click New. 4. In the Website field, type a value. 5. In the Storage field, make sure RapidValue file share is selected. 6. Enter a description of the website. This description is shown in the upper part of the title page of the website. 7. Close the page. Define website - Local folder Define website - Local folder You can define a website to be stored in a local folder. This local folder must be available on the server on which D365 FO runs. Before you publish the website, this folder must be manually created on the server. If you do not have access to this server, ask your administrator to create the folder. Procedure 1. Click Business process file share. 2. Click Websites. 3. Click New. 4. In the Website field, type a value. 5. In the Storage field, select an option. 6. Define the path to the local folder to which the website must be published. In the Path field, type a value. Note: Before you publish the website, this folder must be manually created on the server on which D365 FO runs. If you do not have access to this server, ask your administrator to create the folder. Example: C:\Websites\RapidValue 7. Define the URL of the published website. This can be a web address or a folder. If you use a folder as URL, use the defined path for this website and add '\Index.html ' to it. In the Website URL field, type a value. Note: If you use a folder as URL, use the defined path for this website and add '\Index.html ' to it. Example: C:\Websites\RapidValue\Index.html 8. Enter a description of the website. This description is shown in the upper part of the title page of the website. 9. Close the page. Define website - Azure file storage Define website - Azure file storage You can define a website to be stored in Azure file storage. Before you publish the website, this folder must be manually created on the Azure file storage. You can retrieve the Path, User name, and Key from the 'net use' command of the related file share on Azure. You can find this on the Connect pane of the file share, under Connect from Windows. Example: net use [drive letter] \\azureportaldemo.file.core.windows.net\demoshare /u:AZURE\azureportaldemo /[storage account access key] For this example, what do you fill in on the website definition?: Path: \\azureportaldemo.file.core.windows.net\demoshare User name: azureportaldemo (Take the user name from /u:AZURE\azureportaldemo)Key: [storage account access key] Procedure 1. Click Business process file share. 2. Click Websites. 3. Click New. 4. In the Website field, type a value. 5. In the Storage field, select 'Azure file storage'. 6. In the Path field, copy the path from the 'net use' command of the related file share on Azure. 7. In the Website URL field, type a value. 8. In the User name field, copy the user name from the 'net use' command of the related file share on Azure. 9. In the Key field, copy the storage account access key from the 'net use' command of the related file share on Azure. 10. Enter a description of the website. This description is shown in the upper part of the title page of the website. 11. Close the page. Start Start Define solution tiles Define solution tiles For each website, you can define the tiles to be shown on the website. This topic describes how to define a tile for a RapidValue solution to be published on the website. Procedure 1. Click Business process file share. 2. Click Websites. 3. In the list, find and select the desired website. 4. In the list, click the link in the selected row. 5. Click Edit. 6. Click the Tiles tab. 7. Click Add tile. 8. In the Type field, make sure 'Solution' is selected. 9. In the Solution field, enter or select a value. 10. In the Title field, change the value. 11. You can define your own image to be shown on the tile. It can be an image that is already available on the internet or stored in a folder. If you do not define a custom image URL, the standard image is shown on the tile. In the Custom image URL field, type a value. Note: - Images on tiles are always shown in the same size. - If you define a custom image URL, the image is only shown if the website user has access to the image location. - If you define a custom image URL, make sure the URL stays up-to-date. For example, a webpage or folder can be moved, which also changes the URL for the image. Tip: Add custom tile pictures to the 'images' folder in the Resources and enter this URL: Resources\images\[image name.extension]. See also: 'Customize resources'. 12. Enter a description of the tile. This description is shown on the tile. 13. Click the Detail tab and define the tile settings. Notes For each solution tile, you can define these detailed settings: Show navigation pane - If Yes, a bar is shown at the top of each page that shows the navigation to the page.Show feedback link - If Yes, on the website, the 'Provide feedback' button is shown for each published topic of the solution. You can use this button to enter feedback in the RapidValue environment from which the website is published. You can only provide feedback if you are a user in this environment.Enable external feedback - If Yes, on the website, the 'Provide feedback' button is shown for each published topic of the solution. This button opens a form that you can use to give feedback on the topic. On submitting the filled-in form, the feedback is saved in SharePoint. A notification email with feedback details is sent to the owner as defined on the related website tile. The owner can review the feedback and take appropriate actions. To use this, an additional license and a SharePoint site are required.Owner - Define the owner who is notified when external feedback is entered in SharePoint.Owner email - Define the email address to which the owner notification is sent when external feedback is entered in SharePoint.Show table of contents pane - If Yes, the solution table of contents is shown on the left of each page.Language - If you have defined translations for the solution, select the language in which you want to publish the solution. The elements in your solution that are not translated into this language are published in the original language. You can only publish in another language if this language is defined for the solution itself. So, for example, all content of the solution is translated to a specific language. However, no translation for this language is defined for the solution itself. In this case, you cannot publish in this language.Strategy - If Yes, the strategy, as defined for the solution, is added to the website. This includes: Mission statement, goals, and metrics. Organization - If Yes, the organization information, as defined for the solution, is added to the website. This includes information like organization structure and roles.Implementation - If Yes, the implementation information, as defined for the solution, is added to the website. This includes information like scope definition and gap analysis.Version number - If Yes, the version number of each element is added to the website. Change history - If Yes, the change history of each element is added to the website.Number of changes - You can define the maximum number of change history records that is published for each element. For example, if you enter 3, only the latest three changes to the element are published. Define custom tiles Define custom tiles For each website, you can define the tiles to be shown on the website. Expand the Resources section. 7. To do so, click the Reset button. 8. Click the Download button. 9. Make the required modifications to the downloaded resources. You can apply resources in these ways:
  • Standard
    The standard resources are embedded in the RapidValue code base as binary file. If you publish, and no custom resources are defined for the website, the standard resources are applied. The embedded resources are extracted and added to the defined path or ZIP file in a Resources folder on the website level. So, all published solutions of a website get the same layout.
  • Customized
