As a Data entry workflow user, you can delegate your data entry workflow task assignments to another user.

For example, you can schedule the delegation of your workflow task assignments during planned time off, such as vacations or personal leave.

Standard procedure

1. Go to Data entry workflow > Design > Delegation > My workflow assignment delegation.
2. Click New.
3.

Select the desired scope of the delegation:

  • All: The delegation applies to all data entry workflow templates.
  • Category: The delegation applies only to the data entry workflow templates with a specific category. In the Name field select the desired category.
  • Workflow: The delegation applies only to a specific data entry workflow template. In the Name field select the desired data entry workflow template.
In the Scope field, select an option.

Note: In the delegation setup, an overlap can exist. In this case, the priority sequence to search for the applicable delegation is from specific to generic: Workflow > Category > All.

4.

If the scope is:

  • All, this field is not applicable.
  • Category, select the desired category.
  • Workflow, select the desired data entry workflow template.
In the Name field, enter or select a value.
5. Define the user to which the assignment is delegated.
In the Delegate field, enter or select a value.
6. Define the start date and time of the delegation period.
In the Start date/time field, enter a date and time.
7. Define the end date and time of the delegation period.
In the End date/time field, enter a date and time.
8. Close the page.

Notes

  • To make a created or edited assignment delegation applicable, the Data entry workflow manager must enable it. Therefore, notify the manager that you have created or edited an assignment delegation.
  • Make sure, a delegated-to user has at least the Data entry workflow user role with related rights.
  • You can use the My workflow assignment delegations page also to view assignments that are delegated from other users to you.
