Exchange data entry workflow templates

You can exchange data entry workflow templates with other D365 FO environments.


Designer (Data entry workflow) Designer (Data entry workflow) The Data entry workflow designer (DewDataEntryWorkflowDesigner): Enables the Data entry workflow setup. Designs and maintains data entry workflow templates. Manages data entry workflow template versions. Deploys data entry workflow templates. Start Start Export workflow template Export workflow template You can export one or more data entry workflow templates to an XML file. For all selected workflow templates, the full configuration is exported to the XML file. You can use the XML file to import workflow templates into another D365 FO environment. Procedure 1. Go to Data entry workflow > Design > Data entry workflow templates. 2. In the list, find and select the desired workflow template(s). 3. On the Action Pane, click General. 4. Click Export workflow template to file. 5. In the Download file field, type a value. 6. You can run the export in the background. So, you can continue work while the workflow template is exported. If you do not run the export in the background, the created XML file is automatically downloaded. Select Yes in the Run in background field. Note: If you have selected several workflow templates to be exported, Run in background is always 'Yes' and you cannot change it. Export files that are created when run in the background, are stored. You can download these files when export is finished. 7. Click OK. 8. Close the page. Import workflow template Import workflow template You can import one or more data entry workflow templates from an XML file that is exported from another D365 FO environment. Procedure 1. Go to Data entry workflow > Design > Data entry workflow templates. 2. On the Action Pane, click General. 3. Click Import workflow template from file. 4. Click Select configuration file to browse for and select the desired XML file. 5. Select Yes in the Overwrite shared labels field. 6. Select Yes in the Run in background field. 7. Click OK. 8. Click the desired answer: Yes or No. 9. Close the page. Notes On import, configurable labels are imported as well. An imported configurable label can have another text than the configurable label in the current environment. You can define what is done if, on import, a configurable label text differs from the existing configurable label text: No: You get a warning. The existing configurable label text is kept. When the import is finished, you can manually change the existing label text. Note: If the configurable label exists in the current environment, but is used only in the imported workflow template, the existing text is overwritten. Yes: The existing configurable label text is overwritten. End End
