When a resource task must be repeated over a period of time, use the recurrence feature. The Refresh feature drives the recurrence. When a time sheet is created, the refresh function runs and checks for assigned tasks in the time sheet period, or checks if the task has a recurrence pattern and is not suspended for the time sheet period. You can also refresh a time sheet from the time sheet header.
Steps - Set up resource task recurrence
On a resource task, select Related > Recurrence Pattern to start the Recurrence Wizard.
On the first page of the wizard, specify the following fields:
Recurrence pattern: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
Start date of the recurrence.
End date of the recurrence (set an end date or specify the number of occurrences).
Number of occurrences.
On the second page, specify:
The number of occurrences per week, or
The days of the week.
Click Finish to complete the wizard.
Steps - Resource task recurrence suspension
You can suspend a recurrence for a certain period, for example, during a holiday period:
On a resource task, select Related > Suspension.
In the list, select New to create a new entry or Edit to update an existing entry.
A suspension must have a Start Date and an End Date. Optionally select a Reason Code for the suspension.
