Maintenance management

Prev Next

Maintenance activities keep a company's resources operating smoothly. The level of maintenance a company requires can range from a periodic visit from a technician servicing a few pieces of office equipment, to employing a separate in-house maintenance department that performs repairs and upkeep on company equipment and vehicles.

The Maintenance Management granule lets you:

  • Schedule maintenance activities for your assets.

  • Record the results and associated costs for each activity.

In addition, the maintenance data you record can be used for analytical purposes. For example, by tracking the details of the maintenance activities carried out for each asset, you can identify assets that malfunction more frequently than others, ultimately informing decisions about whether it would be more cost-effective to replace a particular piece of equipment.

The following table describes a sequence of activities, with links to the topics that describe them. These activities are listed in the order in which they are generally performed.
