In Business Integration Solutions, the FILEREADER endpoint reads files from an external file system.
Usage
Use this endpoint to import documents (XML, CSV, or text) stored in a file system (usually a network share) into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Concept
When documents are stored in a file system, use the File Reader endpoint to import the files. The files process through various activities in the pipeline and pass into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
To read the documents, provide the folder location and appropriate file name filter. You can also choose to leave the documents on the file system after reading or to delete them automatically. If you leave the files on the system, you can also choose to read new files only.
You can apply the File Reader endpoint settings per company or for all subscribing companies. You can also process the endpoint as a batch using the job queue, where a job queue entry is created for the reading endpoint.
Note
To view queue documents from different Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central clients or locations, use a network share with the appropriate permissions for the users of that client.
