Depending on the items a company sells and the manner in which it distributes them, customers who purchase the same products regularly may want to standardise this sales activity as a recurring event. For example, a customer might instruct the company to deliver the same items once a week.
You can define fixed sales activities in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as standing orders. A standing order serves as a template from which sales orders are generated. If you have set up delivery routes to represent the standard itineraries your delivery trucks travel to distribute and pick up goods, you can link these routes to your standing order. This lets you generate sales orders according to scheduled delivery activities.
The following table describes a sequence of activities, with links to the topics that describe them. These activities are listed in the order in which they are generally performed.
