Create service items from a project

When items are posted from the project planning line and that item is part of a service item group marked as Create Service Item, a service item is created and linked to the service object specified on the project task.

Steps

To create an as-installed product structure:

1. Create a service object from a project deliverable.

2. Make sure that items requiring servicing are part of a service item group marked as Create Service Item.

3. When an item is posted from the project planning line, a check is made:

   1. Is there a service object for the project?

   2. Is the item part of a service item group marked as Create Service Item?

   3. When both conditions are true, a service item is created and added to the service object list.

      Note

      The service item is created including the first-level components as used in the production or assembly BOM used in the project.
