Create and maintain asset status triggers

You can set up asset availability triggers to control business object status updates.

These triggers respond to key actions in processes such as purchase, rent, and service. They update the status of the business object automatically.


Fleet management manager Fleet management manager Start Start Set up asset availability trigger Set up asset availability trigger Configure the following fields when setting up an asset availability trigger: From date: Choose Default, System, or Rental. If you select Rental, also define the rental date type and optional offset. For example, offset = 1 and unit = Day means the date is one day after the on-rent date. From time: Set the start time. The same options apply as for From date. To date: Set the end date. Options are the same as From date, with an additional option: No end date. To time: Set the end time. The same options apply as for To date. Procedure 1. Go to Business objects > Setup > Fleet planning > Asset availability trigger. 2. Click New. 3. In the Type field, select an option. Note: Select the type of trigger. The type is process-related. 4. In the Rental sub status field, select an option. Note: Select the sub status that will be set on the asset after a particular action in a process. For instance, after delivering a business object on a rental order the sub status will be set to Delivered. The sub status can be viewed on the rental transactions. The sub status cannot be set when the type is set to a Work order. 5. In the Work order line status field, select an option. Note: Select the work order line status that should trigger the asset status. Can only be set if the type is a Work order. 6. In the Rental asset status field, enter or select a value. Note: Select the asset status that must be set by the trigger. 7. In the Task ID field, enter or select a value. Note: Select the task that is used on the work order that should trigger the availability status. 8. In the From date field, select an option. 9. In the Rental date field, select an option. 10. In the Offset field, enter a number. 11. In the Unit field, select an option. 12. In the Time field, select an option. 13. In the Rental date field, select an option. 14. In the Offset field, enter a number. 15. In the Time unit field, select an option. 16. In the To date field, select an option. 17. In the Rental date field, select an option. 18. In the Offset field, enter a number. 19. In the Unit field, select an option. 20. In the Time field, select an option. 21. In the Rental date field, select an option. 22. In the Offset field, enter a number. 23. In the Time unit field, select an option. 24. Click Save. End End
