Cross-rent business objects

Sometimes, one legal entity lacks stock for a rental type, while another entity has enough. In this case, you can rent a business object owned by another entity by changing its physical owner. The financial owner remains the same.

Restrictions:

  • Do not use this flow for inventory category business objects. Use it only for rental category business objects.

Revenue sharing:

  • The financial owner can share revenues when another legal entity uses their business object. Rental Management supports this through multi-dimensional allocation and financial dimension attribute configuration.
  • You can distribute posted amounts across legal entities and ledger accounts.

Procedure 1. Go to Business objects > Business objects > All business objects. 2. In the list, find and select the desired business object. 3. On the Business object tab, click Change dates to open the drop dialog. 4. Select Yes in the Change last on rent date field. 5. In the Last on rent date field, enter a date. 6. Click Change. 7. On the Business object tab, click Change owner to open the drop dialog. 8. Select Yes in the Change physical owner field. 9. In the Physical owner field, enter or select the desired legal entity. 10. Click Change. 11. Click Change dates to open the drop dialog. 12. Select Yes in the Change first on rent date field. 13. In the First on rent date field, enter a date. 14. Click Change. 15. Close the page. 16. Go to Default dashboard. End End
