For consumption-based billing items with the "Estimated + Actual" invoice type, you must define estimated consumption on the rental order header and lines.

Depending on the pricing type, the estimated consumption is used to:

  • Generate intermediate invoices for the consumption-charge price
  • Determine the correct price tier for the consumption-driven price

On the rental order header, define a default estimated consumption per group for new rental lines. When updated, you can apply the new values to existing lines.

On the rental order line, you can update the estimated consumption for:

  • The full rental period by changing the field directly
  • A specific period by defining an effective period in the rental line editor
