When you qualify a lead in Rental Management for D365 Sales, an opportunity is created in Rental Management for D365 Sales. You can also directly create an opportunity in Rental Management for D365 Sales.

An opportunity is a lead who is now almost ready to buy. Use an opportunity to forecast sales revenue, set a potential close date, and indicate the probability of the sale.
For more information on creating and editing an opportunity, refer to Create or edit quotes.
Additionally, for an opportunity in Rental Management for D365 Sales, before you can create a quote, define the Rental details. These fields are required to create a rental quotation header in D365 FO. For more information, refer to the steps and notes of this topic.
Opportunities are not synchronized to D365 FO.


Standard procedure

1. Sign in to Rental Management for D365 Sales.
2. In the Site map, click Opportunities.
3. Select the desired opportunity and on the command bar, click Edit.
4. On the Summary tab, in the Rental details group, fill in all fields.

Notes

Rental details fields on the Summary tab of the Opportunities page:

Field Description
Rental calendar The rental calendar defines the days and times for which a rental order line is invoiced, for example, only working days from 8:00 to 17:00 are invoiced.
Rate code The rate code defines how the invoice amount is calculated, for example, per day or per week.
On-rent date/time The start date/time of the rental period.
Expected off-rent date/time The expected end date/time of the rental period.
Default shipping site The default site from which the rental item is shipped.
On creation of a rental quotation in D365 FO, this site is filled in the 'Site' storage dimension on the rental quotation header.
Default shipping warehouse The default warehouse from which the rental item is shipped.
On creation of a rental quotation in D365 FO, this warehouse is filled in the 'Warehouse' storage dimension on the rental quotation header.
