Set the parameters that apply to the mass return process of the Rental Logistics Scanning app.
| 1. | Click Mobility management. |
| 2. | Click Anywhere app parameters. |
| 3. | Click the Rental tab. |
| 4. | Expand the Mass return section. |
| 5. | For the Rental Logistics Scanning app mass return process, the rental orders are cached. This is done for performance reasons. The cache must contain the rental orders that can be returned. Set the days before and days after the expected off-rent date, to define a period. All rental orders, with an expected off-rent date in the defined period, are included in the cache. |
|   | In the Expected off-rent days before rental order field, enter a number. |
|   |
Note:
|
| 6. | In the Expected off-rent days after rental order field, enter a number. |
| 7. | For the Rental Logistics Scanning app mass return process, the rental transfer orders are cached. This is done for performance reasons. The cache must contain the rental transfer orders that can be returned. Set the days before and the days after the ship date, to define a period. All rental transfer orders, with a ship date in the defined period, are included in the cache. |
|   | In the Shipped posting days before transfer order field, enter a number. |
|   |
Note:
|
| 8. | In the Shipped posting days after transfer order field, enter a number. |
| 9. | You can enable the use of an existing return journal when you do a mass return with the Rental Logistics Scanning app.
If you select:
|
|   | Select Yes in the Search for open return journal field. |
| 10. | You can define how the off-rent date is set for rental returns:
|
|   | In the Round return date field, select an option. |
| 11. | Sub-task: Define supplementary item groups. |
| 11.1 | You can charge costs for rental mass returns. To charge costs, you need an item group for supplementary items. Define the item groups for supplementary items. Use item groups with service items that are set up as charge cost items. You can assign charge cost items as supplementary items to rental items. Based on this setup, you can add charge cost lines to your rental returns. You can use this setup, for example, to charge damages. |
|   | In the Supplementary item group section, click Add. |
| 11.2 | In the Item group field, enter or select a value. |
If you use the Fill cache batch job to improve mass return performance (steps 5-8), an error can occur. The DNRANYFillCacheInProgress parameter in the AXAParameters table can stay selected without a Fill cache batch job running. This prevents users from logging in to Rental Logistics Scanning. The message shown on the Rental Logistics Scanning app is: "Mass return can't be used - filling cache is in progress".
Usually, when this message is shown, the Fill cache batch job is actually running. However, it can be an issue. So, as administrator, you can run the Reset fille cache check box job (in D365 F&SCM > Rental order management > STEADEAN Rental logistics Scanning).
The Reset fill cache check box job validates if a Fill cache batch job is running and if the DNRANYFillCacheInProgress parameter in the AXAParameters table is selected. If no Fill cache batch job is running but the check box is selected, the check box is cleared.
