Set up Action management

Before you can use Action management, some setup is required:

  • Action management-related number sequences on the Action management parameters.
  • Queries for triggers of type Query. Use a query to find one or more records in the database. The found records are the input for further processing.

Procedure 1. Click Action and document management design. 2. Click Action management parameters. 3. Click the Number sequences tab. 4. Sub-task: Initialize area and references. 5. Click Initialize references. 6. Sub-task: Generate number sequences. 7. Go to Organization administration > Number sequences > Number sequences. 8. Now the Action management area and related references are available, you can generate number sequences for the references. To do so, finish the wizard. You can generate number sequences for each reference for each required company. When generated, the number sequences are automatically filled on the Action management parameters. Click Generate. Note: You are advised to define a distinctive constant for each generated number sequence. For example, for the number sequence for: - Workflows: Wf - Category: Cat - Trigger: Trig - Transaction: Trans - Query: Q 9. Sub-task: Change number sequences. 10. Click Action and document management design. 11. Click Action management parameters. 12. Click the Number sequences tab. 13. Close the page. Do you need  queries? Do you need  queries?   • Workflow trigger of type Query to start a workflow based on the query results.
  • Document type perspective to define the scope of the perspective and the content of the document.
Optionally, you can run a query under specific conditions. For conditions, you can use functions.
