For each text fragment, as defined for a document type perspective, you can set up filters to define when the text fragment is applicable. If, on generation of a document or email, a text fragment is not applicable, it is not added to the document or email.
For each of the filters, the value of the left data source field is validated against the value of the right data source field or a fixed value. The validation is done based on the defined operator.

Standard procedure

1. Click Action and document management design.
2. Click the Document types tab.
3. In the list, click the link of the desired record.
4. In the Perspectives section, on the Overview tab, in the list, find and select the desired record.
5. In the text fragments section, on the text fragments tab, in the list, find and select the desired record.
6. Click the Filter tab.
7. Click New.
8. In the Data source name field, enter or select a value.
9. In the Field name field, enter or select a value.
10. In the Operator field, select an option.
11. Define against what the left field value must be validated.
Only select one of these options:
- Record value: fill in the Data source name and Field name fields.
- Constant: fill in the Value field.
In the Property type field, select an option.
12. In the Data source name field, enter or select a value.

15. Define whether or not all filters must be met for a text fragment to be applied.
- If none of the filters has an or-group, all filters must be met.
- If you add the same or-group to several filters, only one of the filters with this Or-group must be met.
- If you have filters without and filters with an or-group, all filters without an or-group and one filter for each or-group must be met.
In the Or-group field, type a value.
