Set up Quality Management

Besides the Quality Management setup explained in this article, the following is required to have measurements created automatically:

  • Quality Management subscribers: To specify when to measure.

    Note

    In most cases the Quality Management Subscribers list is populated automatically. If not, use the Initialize Quality Management Subscribers action on the Quality Management Subscribers page.

  • Measurement template: To specify how to measure, specifying:

    • The table from which the measurement is triggered (as enabled in the Quality Management Subscribers)

    • The sampling method

    • Questions and a question set to create check sheets

    • User defined fields

    • Check sheet rating

  • Target Template: To specify what to measure.

Steps

  1. Choose the   icon (Alt+Q).

  2. Type Quality Management Setup.

  3. On the General fast-tab, define the general Quality Management settings:

    Field

    Description

    Default Due Date Formula

    The time allowed to complete a check sheet.

    Automatic Create Measurements

    When checked, measurements are created automatically when a measurement template is found by the incident.

    Post with Job Queue

    When checked, measurements are not created immediately: a job queue entry is created instead.

    Quality Team Code

    To-dos created from the measurement are assigned to this team code.

    Default Quarantine Location

    Select the location where rejected items must be moved to as one of the registered measurement follow-ups.

    Quarantine Journal Template Name

    Select the re-classification template for moving rejected items to the quarantine location.

    Quarantine Journal Batch

    Select the batch name for the re-classification journal for moving rejected items to the quarantine location.

  4. On the Numbering fast-tab, define the number series to be applied in Quality Management:

    Field

    Description

    Measurement Nos.

    Specify the number series for measurements.

    Check Sheet Nos.

    Specify the number series for check sheets.

    Registered Measurement Nos.

    Specify the number series for registered measurements.

  5. On the Captions fast-tab, define the captions for the user-defined fields:

    Specify the captions for the user defined fields used for measurements.

  6. Set up notifications

    To show a message in the source document when a measurement is created, set the notification:

    1. Choose the   icon (Alt+Q).

    2. Type My Notifications and select the link.

    3. On the My Notifications page, locate Show Incident Notification and make sure Enabled is true.
