Set up user workflows for engineering change management

Usually, specific engineering product changes require the approval of several roles in a company.

Use a user workflow if several users are involved in the approval process. A user workflow can reduce risks and ensure quality.

To be able to work with engineering change management, you must set up a workflow for:

  • Engineering change requests

  • Engineering change orders

You can add a task to the engineering change orders workflow, to process dependencies.

Steps

  1. Go to Product engineering > Setup > User workflows.

  2. Click New.

  3. Click engineering change order review or engineering change request review to edit them.

    Note

    It is recommended to open this on Microsoft Edge. The browser will download the workflow editor, which only works in Google Chrome if you have an extension called ClickOnce installed.

  4. Close the page.
