Set up engineering attributes

You set up engineering attributes to:

• Define additional properties for a version, for example, weight, load, material, build.

• Enable attribute-based product naming.

• Enable searching products based on engineering attributes.

Before you can set up engineering attributes, you must set up the relevant attribute types.

Steps

1. Go to Product engineering > Setup > Attributes > Engineering Attributes.

2. Click New.

3. In the Name field, type a value.

4. In the Attribute type field, enter or select a value.

5. You can define a default value for the engineering attribute.

   In the Default value field, enter a number.

6. Close the page.

Notes

You can define a translation of an engineering attribute. To do so, select it and click Translate. On the Text translation page, select a language, select an engineering attribute, and enter the translations.
