Correct and repost transferred lines

Use this task to correct product groups that were transferred during partial posting and post the corrected data.

Prerequisites

  • A staging journal with the status Open exists.

  • The Original journal field identifies the journal from which the product groups were transferred.

Steps

  1. Go to Modules > Engineering change management > PLM integration > Staging journal.

  2. Find the journal that has the following values:

    1. Journal status is Open.

    2. Original journal matches the journal that was partially posted.

  3. Open the journal and select Lines.

  4. Review Journal line status and Journal line message for each failed product group.

  5. Review the related tabs, such as BOM lines and Route, to locate errors in related product data.

  6. Correct the invalid data. For example:

    • Enter a required product version.

    • Select an existing unit.

    • Enter the required BOM site.

    • Correct invalid BOM or route information.

  7. Select Post journal.

  8. To transfer any remaining failed product groups to another journal, set Transfer failed lines to Yes.

  9. Select OK.

  10. Review Message details or the Infolog message to confirm the posting result.

Results

Corrected product groups are posted. If all product groups pass validation, the journal status changes to Posted.

If a product group still fails validation, the system transfers it to another journal with the status Open. The current journal receives the status Posted with errors transferred.

Note

The Original journal field identifies the journal from the previous posting attempt. Use this field on each transferred journal to follow the sequence of journals across correction cycles.
