If you use subcontracting, set the subcontracting parameters.

Standard procedure

1. Go to Project management and accounting > Setup > Advanced project management > Advanced project management parameters.
2. Click the Subcontracting tab.
3. Define the forecast model that is used for subcontracted forecast lines. If a project activity with forecast lines is subcontracted, the forecast lines are no longer applicable and are excluded from the current forecast. The forecast is replaced with the subcontract and the related purchase order. The forecast lines stay the same, but the original forecast model is replaced with the subcontracting forecast model, as defined in this field. An additional item forecast is created, which serves as a new budget and can be compared with the related purchase order.
In the Forecast model field, enter or select a value.
4. Select this check box if you want to use quantity types for subcontracting. The quantity and unit for subcontracted activities are validated according to the applicable activity type.
Make your selection in the Validate quantity field.
