User lock-out

Prev Next

The system can be configured to lock-out any user if they enter an incorrect electronic signature password a designated number of times.

The following lockout parameters can be defined in the Electronic signature parameters form (Organization administration > Setup > Electronic signature > Electronic signature parameters):

  • Lockout duration: The number of minutes a locked-out signature remains locked out before automatically being unlocked. If set to “0”, the lockout duration is considered unlimited.
  • Lockout threshold: The number of failed sign-in attempts that result in a user’s signature being locked out. If set to “0”, electronic signatures are never locked out.
  • Reset lockout counter after: The number of minutes that pass after a failed sign attempt before the failed sign attempt counter is reset to “0”.

In the Signature lockout alert recipient field, it is possible to select a user who will receive a notification whenever a signature lockout occurs.

It is possible to verify the lock status of a user in the Account tab of the User options form (System administration > Users, select a user and click User options). The Signature locked out parameter is automatically set to “Yes” for users whose signature is locked out.

Authorized users can unlock a user’s signature by clicking Electronic signature > Unlock in the Account tab of the User options form.
