These test variables are connected to **Outcomes**, which establish the criteria for passing or failing qualitative tests (**Option** test type). For example, a “Color” variable might designate “Yellow” as a fail outcome and “White” as a pass outcome. Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance enables users to define a text in the **Specification** field for a **Test variable**, which can be printed in reports such as the Certificate of Analysis to define acceptance criteria for the selected variable. Translations can be set for **Specifications** and **Outcomes** descriptions. ## Related - [Tests](/tests.md) - [Quality order results entry](/quality-order-results-entry.md) - [Quality control setup](/quality-control-setup.md) - [Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance](/life-sciences-quality-control-assurance.md)
