After a license plate is picked, the system can split the work either automatically or optionally (that is, prompting users to decide whether to split it). This is especially useful when there is no fixed unit conversion between the license plate and the inventory unit, and it reduces manual work for warehouse operators. To achieve this, mobile device menu items must be setup in the **Mobile device menu items** form as follows: - **Mode**: **Work** - **Use existing work**: **Yes** - **Directed by**: **User directed** - **Allow splitting of work**: **Yes** - **Split work by license plate quantity**: **Automatic** for automatic split or **Optional** for optional split - **Display last scanned work ID**: Enable this option to display the last scanned work ID after the work is completed, allowing the user to continue picking the remaining quantity without scanning the work ID again. With this setup, warehouse work can be created per item or per batch for the full quantity, and then split during picking based on the license plate quantity. The split also works when the warehouse work contains multiple pick lines; for example, pick lines caused by different order lines, pick locations, items, or batches. When a full license plate is picked, the corresponding pick quantity is split into a new, closed work with the picked license plate as the target license plate, while the remaining pick lines stay on the original work. This applies to both the **Automatic** and **Optional** split options, for both sales order and transfer order shipment picking. If **Display last scanned** **work ID** is enabled, the ID of the original work is shown on screen once the split completes; the user confirms it and then continues by scanning the remaining license plate(s) on the original work. ## Related - [Unpick for shipment via mobile device](/unpick-for-shipment-via-mobile-device.md) - [Shipment picking via mobile device](/shipment-picking-via-mobile-device.md) - [Life Sciences Warehouse Management](/life-sciences-warehouse-management.md)
