# Sampling

Sampling comprises the operations designed to select a portion of a pharmaceutical product for a defined purpose, for example, retain samples or identification samples.

The Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing module allows pharmaceutical companies to manage the following sampling processes:

> 
> The sampling is only allowed if the **Enable subdivision** and **Dispensing order** parameters are enabled in **Inventory and warehouse management parameters** form > **Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing** FastTab.
