# Revenue recognition

According to the **Calculation vs. Consumption** revenue recognition feature, the accrued revenue of the estimate is calculated based on production consumption. The accrued revenue can go above the contract value by enabling the **Allow over-recognition** checkbox. The added **Period consumption** table collects the quantity of items posted in the estimation period on the project considering the chargeability via inventory status.
