These are the scientific names, based on the molecular structure of the drug. - Generic or non-proprietary names, the most important of which are International Non-proprietary Names (INNs). These are usually indicated via their stems and what drug class the drug belongs to. - Trade names, which are brand names or trademark names. To keep track of the different names for a product, Life Sciences Supply Chain Management provides the capability to define multiple synonyms for a product and search the list of items by synonyms. Users can define product synonyms for a selected product in the **Product synonyms** form (**Product information management** > **Products** > **Released products** > **Product tab** > **Product synonyms**). All the synonyms associated with items can be viewed in the **Product synonyms by item** inquiry (**Inventory management** > **Inquiries and reports** > **Product synonyms** > **Product synonyms by item**). The information listed in this inquiry can be filtered to easily retrieve a specific item regardless of the name used for the search.
