Picking list journal creation job

Prev Next

In manufacturing companies, the material is moved from the inventory to the production areas where it will be consumed. Once all the required materials are in the relevant production location, the user can start the material consumption by creating the picking list journal.

To simplify and speed up the process, Life Sciences Supply Chain Management provides the Picking list journal creation job (Production control > Periodic tasks > Production consumption > Picking list journal creation) that automatically creates a picking list journal if the relevant material is ready to be consumed in the production location. The job can be set to be recurrent according to a pre-defined frequency.

The Production input location parameter must be enabled in the relevant location profiles, so the system creates the journal only if all the material belonging to an operation is in the relevant production location.

Note

The system creates a new picking list journal only if no journal already exists for the same operation.

In the Picking list journal creation job dialog, it is possible to define whether the system shall create a single journal for all items or different journals by operation by setting the Create journal per parameter.
