Number sequence for maintenance plans

Prev Next

Maintenance plans are utilized to schedule and manage regular maintenance activities for assets within an organization. These plans help ensure that preventive maintenance is carried out efficiently, reducing unexpected breakdowns and prolonging asset life. Each maintenance plan is identified by a unique Maintenance Plan ID, which should adhere to a defined number sequence. This approach not only prevents duplication but also streamlines the tracking and reporting of maintenance activities across the system.

Life Sciences Enterprise Asset Management enhances D365 standard Asset Management module by adding a new number sequence for maintenance plans in Asset management > Setup > Asset management parameters > Number sequences.

If a Number sequence code is set for maintenance plans, the system will automatically assign a Maintenance plan number when users create a new plan by clicking New in Asset management > Setup > Preventive maintenance > Maintenance plans, unless manual assignment is enabled.
