# Marketing authorization number

To be marketed in a country, a medicinal product must often be granted Marketing Authorization by the country. The authorization is issued based on a scientific assessment of the product’s quality, safety, and efficacy requirements.

Life Sciences Supply Chain Management allows to assign the Marketing authorization number to items in the system. The information is then inherited by all the product batches. Users can define the **Marketing authorization number** in the **Released product details** form (**Product information management** > **Products** > **Released products** > **Released product details** > **General** FastTab) and modify it at the batch level in the **Batches** form (**Inventory management** > **Inquiries and reports** > **Tracking dimensions** > **Batches**).
