# Architecture of a D365 F&SCM production environment with the full STAEDEAN Life Sciences solution

This section provides information on the production environment's standard D365 F&SCM and STAEDEAN Life Sciences IT architecture structure.

## **Standard** D365 F&SCM and STAEDEAN Life Sciences **architecture**

A standard D365 F&SCM and STAEDEAN Life Sciences solution is based on the following elements:

### **Used for environment and project management**

- Azure DevOps: collaboration system used for development and project management.
- LCS: web portal used to manage D365 F&SCM environments.

### **Services/Backend components**

- Identity provider: (Azure) Microsoft Entra ID, used to certify identities of D365 F&SCM users.
- Azure SQL Server: SQL service used to store D365 F&SCM data.
- Production D365 F&SCM: service that executes D365 F&SCM .

### **Frontend components**

- Web browser (client): client browser used to access D365 F&SCM service.
- Mobile app: warehouse mobile app used to access D365 F&SCM service.

### **Label printing**

- Azure storage: Azure resource used to store files for labels.
- Gateway/File server/Label SW: server used to move files from the cloud to the local network. It must have installed a Label Printing software to generate and send labels to the printer(s).
- Printer: a device used to print labels.

> SDN recommends hosting the Gateway and File server as virtual machines on Microsoft Azure. This approach leverages Azure’s high-availability features.

### **Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing**

- SQL Server/File server: used for configuration files and logs.
- Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing App: frontend app used for Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing.
- Scale: scale connected to the Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing App.
