Quality orders can be automatically generated for raw materials (when a purchase order is registered/received) and manufactured products (when an operation and/or batch order/production order is started/reported as finished) based on the quality association setup.
Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance allows planning Quality Control by defining a new quality lead time for purchasing/manufacturing and calculating the planned order start date accordingly. The basic quality planning functionality includes the time for Quality Control, calculated as a difference between the planned orders’ Requirement date and Delivery date when scheduling the planned purchase orders and production orders to:
Include the quality time in MRP calculations both for incoming and manufactured materials.
Determine the expected release date of materials under quality inspection (both for incoming materials inspected upon receipt and manufactured products).
This functionality provides additional features related to lead times, including:
The capability to define the site/warehouse where the lead times apply (quality lead times may be different by site/warehouse).
The capability to define a purchase order quality lead time for raw materials.
The capability to define a batch order quality lead time for finished products.
The capability to define if the quality lead times refer to working or calendar days.
The additional fields are available in the Quality order tab in the Default order settings form (Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance > Released products > Manage inventory tab > Default order settings).
