# Allow modifications for batches with open quality orders

D365 F&SCM prevents the modifications of batch properties (for example, dates) when there is an open quality order for the batch. This control is enforced only when the quality order **Reference type** is **Inventory**.

Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance introduces the **Allow batch update with open quality order** parameter (**Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance > Setup > Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance parameters > Quality management** tab). When this parameter is enabled, users are free to modify the batch master properties even when there is an open quality order for the selected batch.
