# Advanced license plate inquiry

The Advanced license plate inquiry can be accessed by creating a mobile device menu item item (**Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device menu items**) with the **Activity code** set to **Advanced license plate inquiry**.

When accessing the advanced item inquiry on the mobile device, users can scan/manually enter the **License plate** in the **License plate inquiry** screen.

An initial screen is displayed with the following license plate information:

- **Location**
- **License plate**

When users confirm the information, the on-hand information is displayed in a grid layout. Each box contains the following fields:

- **Key identifier:** a combination of the item number and batch number for batch managed items, sub-batch number for sub-batch managed items
- **Item number:** Item number that has on-hand on the license plate
- **Info:** Product name of the item
- **Batch number:** Batch number that has on-hand on the license plate
- **Sub batch:** Sub batch number that has on-hand on the license plate (if applicable)
- **Physical:** Physical inventory available for the batch/sub-batch on the license plate
- **Inventory status:** Inventory status of the batch

Users can view the same information as a list by clicking on one of the boxes and accessing the **Inventory details** screen. It is possible to link this screen with other inquiries by leveraging standard detour functionality (for example, to access the related item, batch, or sub-batch inquiry with a single click).

The [Advanced batch inquiry](/life-sciences/docs/advanced-batch-inquiry) for a displayed batch can be opened by clicking the correspondent **Batch** button.

The [Advanced sub-batch inquiry](/life-sciences/docs/advanced-sub-batch-inquiry) for a displayed sub-batch can be opened by clicking the correspondent **Sub batch** button.

> The **Item**, **Batch**, and **Sub-batch** buttons are available only when the corresponding standard detour functionality is configured.
