# Work order template linked to item on Purchase order

You can automatically add a work order template to the purchase order header. This creates a work order with tasks based on the template setup, such as receival tasks with checklists.

You can also default a work order template on a purchase order line. This is linked to the item through the default order settings on the item record.

### Steps

1. Go to **Product information management** > **Products** > **Released products**.
2. Find the desired item.
3. In the list, click the link in the selected row.
4. On the **Action Pane**, click **Plan**.
5. Click **Default order settings**.
6. Expand the **Purchase order** section.
7. Use the shortcut to switch to **View** or **Edit** mode.
8. In the **Work order template ID** field, enter or select a value.
9. Click **Save**.
