# Set up target group

If you send the same master data in the same way to several companies, you can group these companies in a target group.

You are advised to use separate target groups for standard companies and external companies.

### Steps

1. Click **Master data management** - **Setup**.
2. Click the **Companies** tab.
3. Click **New**.
4. In the **Type** field, select **Target group**.
5. In the **ID** field, type a value.
6. Expand the **Target companies** section.
7. Click **New**.
8. In the **Company** field, enter or select a value.

> 
> To a target group, you can only add companies of type **Standard** or **External**.
9. Close the page.

### Deleting company from target group

You can delete a company from a target group. However, a master data subscription can exist for the company. In this case, if you delete the company from the target group, you get these options:

| Option | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Yes | The company is deleted from the target group and all master data subscriptions for the company are deleted as well. |
| No | The company is deleted only from the target group. |
| Cancel | Nothing is deleted. |
