# Set up staging

In Master Data Management Studio, you can use a staging journal to send master data. If you send data, it first goes to the staging journal.

This topic explains how to initialize staging for a document.

### Steps

1. Go to **Connectivity studio** > **Setup** > **Base** > **Staging display** options.
2. In the list find the desired record and click the link.
3. Click **Initialize options**.
4. Refresh the page.
5. Close the page.

> You can also set up the staging display options from the source document. To do so, on the **Document** page, on the **Action pane**, on the **Design** tab, click **Staging display options**.
