# Set up external company

Set up an external company for each external application to which you want to send master data.

### Steps

1. Click **Master data management** - **Setup**.
2. Click the **Companies** tab.
3. Click **New**.
4. In the **Type** field, select **External**.
5. In the **ID** field, enter the name of the external application.
6. Expand the **Data stewards** section.
7. Click **New**.
8. In the **Data stewards** field, enter or select a value.
9. Close the page.
