# Set up company groups - Master Data Management Studio

You can set up company groups to define a logical grouping of companies. You can link a company group to a table setup record of a field security policy. The assigned company groups define the companies to which the table setup record applies.

### Steps

1. Go to **Dynamic field security management** > **Setup** > **Company group**.
2. Click **New**.
3. In the **Group id** field, type a value.
4. In the **Description** field, type a value.
5. Sub-task: Add companies to company group.
  1. Expand the **Company group line** section.
  2. Click **New**.
  3. In the **Company** field, enter or select a value.
6. Close the page.
