All elements that are related to the project are exported. Transactions and history are not exported. For example, the related messages and web service actions are exported, but the message history and web service history are not exported. As a result of the export, an XML file is created with the project configuration. You can use this XML file to import the configuration, for example, into another environment. This topic explains how to import a project configuration from a file. ## Steps 1. Click **Connectivity studio - Integration Design**. 2. In the **Related links** section, click **Import project from file**. 3. Click **Select configuration**, browse for and select the desired configuration XML file. 4. Select the **Run in background** check box. You can import a project in the background. Usually, you do so if you import a project with many elements. While the project is imported, you can continue with other activities in the environment. 5. Click **OK**. > [!NOTE] > **Note** > > During import, the imported configuration can contain a number sequence that does not exist in the environment. In this case, a message shows which number sequence does not exist. You can continue the import, or cancel it to create the number sequence first. > [!NOTE] > **Notes** > > - You can also import a project on the **Projects** page. On the **Action Pane**, on the **Deploy** tab, click **Import project from file**. > - If you import a project in the background, you can monitor the status of the import transaction. The import transaction is only shown during the import. To monitor the import status, on the **Connectivity studio - Integration Design** workspace, click **Projects**. On the **Projects** page, on the **Action Pane**, on the **Deploy** tab, click **Status of the transaction**. > - The imported project can contain messages or web service actions with a data synchronization setup using SQL triggers. If these SQL triggers do not exist in the environment, [recreate the SQL triggers](/data-management/docs/monitor-and-recreate-sql-triggers) for the environment. ## Related - [Monitor and recreate SQL triggers](/monitor-and-recreate-sql-triggers.md)
