# Dynamic Field Security

Use for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management to lock or allow editing for forms, tables, or fields.

You can use , for example, in a data governance or master data management environment. In such an environment, data is managed in a central (source) company, and distributed to local (target) companies. With , you can lock fields for editing in both the source company (for example, based on the user or the record status) and the target companies (for example, based on company).
