# Deploy Customer policy

To deploy the 'Customer policy':

## Download file

Before you can import the 'Customer policy' into Data Quality Studio, download the 'Customer policy' here as a ZIP file: [Data Quality - Customer policy](https://cdn.document360.io/da662430-6a41-47b1-8c7e-7e4ac37a9756/Images/Documentation/Data%20Quality%20-%20Customer%20policy.zip).

Make sure to unzip the ZIP file before you import the 'Customer policy.xml' file.

To view the contents of the 'Customer policy.xml' file, you can, for example, use NotePad or NotePad++.

## Import policy from file

Data quality management (workspace) > Data quality policies (tile) > Import

Import the Customer policy from the 'Customer policy.xml' file into Data Quality Studio.

## Activate duplicate check

***Data quality management*** *(workspace) >* ***Links*** *>* ***Setup*** *>* ***Duplicate checks***

Before you review the imported 'Customer policy', activate the imported duplicate check: Customer_DC.

To activate the duplicate check:

1. Go to the **Duplicate checks** page.
2. Click **Edit**.
3. In the list, select the 'Customer_DC' duplicate check.
4. In the **Active** field, select '**Yes**'.

## Review policy

***Data quality studio*** *>* ***Data quality policies*** *>* ***Data quality policies*** *> Click the link of the 'Customer policy'*

You can review and change the imported 'Customer policy'.

Note that the policy is inactive. So, you can make changes to the policy. If you want to make changes, click **Edit**.

In the imported 'Customer policy':

- Several types of validation rules are used. For more information, refer to [Set up validation rules](/data-management/docs/set-up-validation-rules-dqs).
- A duplicate check rule of type Fuzzy matching is used. For more information, refer to [Set up duplicate check rules](/data-management/docs/set-up-duplicate-check-rules-flow).

## Activate policy

***Data Quality studio*** *>* ***Data quality policies*** *>* ***Data quality policies*** *> Click the link of the 'Customer policy' >* ***Version*** *(ActionPane) >* ***Make active***

To apply the rules of the 'Customer policy', you must make the version active. For more information, refer to [Activate data quality policy version](/data-management/docs/activate-data-quality-policy-version).

For the 'Customer policy', the '**Form**' execution trigger is enabled. As a result, data quality policy rules are applied when you enter or update a customer account. For more information, refer to [Apply data quality rules on entering or updating a record](/data-management/docs/apply-data-quality-rules-on-entering-or-updating-a-record).
