# Create MDM project

Use a Connectivity Studio project as the basis for master data management setup. Most Connectivity Studio elements are linked to a project, for example, documents, connectors, and messages. Because these elements are related to a project, you can also use a project to deploy Master Data Management Studio setup and do version management. For a project that is used for master data management setup, make sure to set the project Purpose to 'Mdm'.
