# Create field security policy

Use a field security policy to define for which forms, tables, or fields editing is locked or allowed.

This topic explains how to create a field security policy.

### Steps

1. Go to **Dynamic field security management** > **Policies** > **All field security policies**.
2. Click **New**.
3. In the **Policy** field, type a value.
4. In the **Description** field, type a value.
5. In the **Policy version description** field, type a value.

> **Note**
> 
> On creation of the field security policy, automatically, version number '1' is assigned to the policy.
6. Click OK.
