# Create field security policy version

Use field security policy versions to manage changes on field security policies.

You can create a new field security policy version, for example, if you have an active version and want to make changes to the field security policy. In this case, create a new version, based on the active version, and make the changes in that version.

### Steps

1. Go to **Dynamic field security management** > **Policies** > **All field security policies**.
2. In the list, find and select the desired field security policy.
3. On the **Action Pane**, click **Version**.
4. Click **New policy** version to open the drop dialog.
5. In the **Policy version description** field, type a value.

> **Note**
> 
> Field security policy versions are numbered automatically.
6. Click **OK**.
7. You can only create a field security policy version based on the currently selected version.

Click **Yes**.
