To do so, cancel the release of the master record. As a result, the status of the record is changed to **Cancelled**. You can again edit, approve, and release a cancelled master record. ### Steps 1. Click **Master data management - Operation**. 2. Click the **Master data** tab. 3. In the list, find and select the desired record. 4. Click **Status**. 5. Click **Cancel**. > [!NOTE] > Note > > You can also **Cancel** a master record release directly from a D365 F&SCM record page (**Action pane** > **Master data management** tab). You can only do this if the [dynamics menu form setup](/data-management/docs/set-up-dynamic-menu-form-setup-for-master-data-entity) is defined for the relevant master data entity. ## Related - [Maintain master records](/maintain-master-records-change-request.md) - [Maintain master records](/maintain-master-records.md) - [Set up dynamic menu form setup for master data entity](/set-up-dynamic-menu-form-setup-for-master-data-entity.md)
