A 3PL warehouse stores the inventory of your company. To keep inventory data of your company up to date in the Inventory management module of D365 F&SCM, you can receive inventory data from your 3PL warehouse. Inventory 3PL EDI messages are the EDI messages that your company, as the inventory owner, can receive from a 3PL warehouse.
In EDI Studio, you set up your side (the owner side) of the EDI message exchange with a 3PL warehouse. So, you do not set up the EDI messages at the 3PL warehouse. Of course, you set up your side of the EDI message exchange in close cooperation with the 3PL warehouse. Because the exchanged data must match.
