You can use tasks to manage the work to be done on your RapidValue solution.

You can:

  • Create record-specific tasks from any RapidValue form.
  • Create general tasks from the Tasks or My tasks pages.
  • Define the priority of each task.
  • Open and edit record-specific tasks from the related RapidValue forms.
  • Open and edit the related record from record-specific tasks.
  • Open and edit general tasks from the Tasks and My tasks pages.
  • Assign tasks to any D365 FO user.
  • Manage the task status.


User User Create task - General Create task - General You can create general tasks that are not related to any specific record. You can only monitor and edit these general tasks from the Tasks and My tasks pages on these workspaces: Business process managementBusiness process modelingBusiness process implementationBusiness process testingBusiness process translation Procedure 1. You can create a general task in several places. As an example, in this task guide, you create a general task on business process implementation. To do so, click Business process implementation. 2. Click the My tasks tab. 3. Click New. 4. In the Subject field, type a value. 5. Close the page. Create task - Record specific Create task - Record specific You can create tasks for a specific record. You can only create these tasks from the record form. You do so on Tasks FactBox. However, you can monitor and edit these tasks from the My tasks and Tasks pages. Procedure 1. You can create a task for any RapidValue element. As an example, in this task guide, you create a task for a business process. To do so, click Business process modeling. 2. Click the Business processes tab. 3. Click Edit hierarchy. 4. In the tree, select 'a business process'. 5. Expand the Tasks FactBox. 6. Click New. 7. In the Subject field, type a value. 8. Close the page. Define task priority Define task priority To indicate the importance and urgency of a task, you can assign a priority to each task. The default task priority is Normal. Procedure 1. You can define the task priority from several places. As an example, in this task guide, you set the priority for a business process implementation task. To do so, click Business process implementation. 2. Click the My tasks tab. 3. In the list, find and select the desired record. 4. Click Edit. 5. Define the task priority. For example, click High priority. 6. Close the page. You can view tasks for any record with related tasks. As an example, in this task guide, you open a task for a business process. To do so, click Business process modeling. 2. Click the Business processes tab. 3. Click Edit hierarchy. 4. In the tree, select 'a business process'. 5. In the FactBox pane, in the Tasks box, click the task link. 6. Close the page. Review task-related record Review task-related record If you do a record-specific task, you can open the related record directly from the task. So, you can do the required work on the record. Procedure 1. You can view a task-related record from several places. As an example, in this task guide, you view a task-related record for a business process modeling task. To do so, click Business process modeling. 2. Click the My tasks tab. 3. In the list, find and select the desired record. 4. Click Edit. 5. Click Related record. 6. Close the page. 7. Close the page. To indicate the importance and urgency of a task, you can assign a priority to each task. The default task priority is Normal.

View tasks for a record

If for a record tasks are defined, you can view and edit these tasks from the record form.

Review task-related record

User

If you do a record-specific task, you can open the related record directly from the task. So, you can do the required work on the record.
