For a master data entity, you can define display fields. These display fields are the fields that are shown on the Available records page.

You are advised to at least set up an identification field as display field. So, you can see which records are released and which records are not released.


Standard procedure

1. Click Master data management - Setup.
2. On the Master data entities tab, in the list, find and select the desired master data entity.
3. Click Edit.
4. Expand the Display fields section.
5. Sub-task: Set up table relations for the master data entity.

You can set up table relations for a master data entity. As a result, you can add fields from related tables as display fields.

You can use this to:

  • Filter available records by a value from a related table.
  • Define a range for the master data entity based on a related table value to filter available records.
  Click Table relations.
  5.2 Click New.
  5.3 In the Table name field, enter or select a value.
  5.4 In the Join mode field, select an option.
  5.5 Click Save.
  5.6 Click Add.
  5.7 In the Field name field, enter or select a value.
  5.8 In the Parent field name field, enter or select a value.
  5.9 Close the page.
6. To add one display field, click New.
 

Note:

  • You can also select several fields at once. To do so, in the Display fields section, click Select fields. On the dialog, select the desired fields, and click OK. In this case, you can skip the next three steps.
  • If you have set up table relations, you can also add or select fields from a related table.

7. In the Table name field, enter or select a value.
8. In the Field name field, enter or select a value.
9. In the Display method field, enter or select a value.
10. Sub-task: Define range.
  10.1 You can define a range to limit the records shown on the Available records page.
  Click the Range tab.
  10.2 Click New.
  10.3 In the Table name field, enter or select a value.
  10.4 In the Field name field, enter or select a value.
 

Note: You can use any field of the record table or a related table to define a range. So, you can use different fields compared to the defined display fields.

  10.5 In the Range field, enter or select a value.
11. Close the page.
